Expansion across Spain
Good Morning Spain, the English-language television programme aimed at international residents and visitors in Spain, is expanding its terrestrial coverage to Almería, Murcia and Madrid. The programme, which already broadcasts across Andalucía, is adding Almería TV, Canal 1 in Murcia and Canal 33 in Madrid to its network, according to Euro Weekly News and Madrid Metropolitan.
The expansion brings the show to the Spanish capital for the first time. Madrid Metropolitan reported that Good Morning Spain will begin broadcasting in Madrid on Monday 7 September at 10am on Canal 33, with repeats throughout the week. Canal 33 is described by Madrid Metropolitan as a Madrid local television station with more than 30 years of history, directed by journalist Enrique Riobóo.
Euro Weekly News noted that the move could put the programme in front of several million additional viewers, with more areas already being discussed.
Programme background
Good Morning Spain is presented and produced by British journalist and Euro Weekly News columnist Nicole King, according to Euro Weekly News. The programme is filmed weekly at the studios of the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella, as reported by both outlets.
Each one-hour episode combines Spanish culture, gastronomy, destinations and lifestyle with practical information for international residents, covering topics such as property, legal matters, healthcare, food and everyday life. The programme's motto, "Helping people connect with Spain," reflects its aim to make Spain easier to understand and enjoy, according to Euro Weekly News.
The show originally broadcast through 7TV Andalucía and is now extending with Almería TV, Canal 1 Mar Menor–Torre Pacheco in Murcia, and Canal 33 Madrid, Madrid Metropolitan reported.
Milestones and audience
The expansion comes as the programme approaches a significant milestone. Euro Weekly News reported that the programme reaches its 151st edition this week and celebrates its third anniversary on 28 September. Madrid Metropolitan, meanwhile, reported that the programme reaches programme 152 and approaches its third anniversary on 28 September 2026.
Madrid Metropolitan highlighted the capital's relevance as an audience for the programme, noting that more than 1.06 million residents of Madrid were born outside Spain, representing 30.5% of the city's population. The outlet also reported that Madrid welcomed more than 5.6 million visitors during the first six months of 2026, of whom 3.34 million were international.
Euro Weekly News pointed to the growth of Spain's international population as a driver for the programme's expansion. The outlet reported that at the beginning of 2025, Spain was home to 9.46 million foreign-born residents, with almost a quarter, 24.4%, having arrived during the previous two years. It also noted that Almería has foreign nationals making up around 24% of residents.
Broadcast details
Good Morning Spain airs every Monday at 10am, according to Euro Weekly News. The programme's expansion into new regions reflects the increasing demand for English-language information among both new arrivals and established international residents, the outlet reported.
