Florida basketball to face Baylor in October exhibition
Florida basketball has announced it will face Baylor in an exhibition game on Oct. 18 at Jacksonville's VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, according to the university's announcement carried by the Gainesville Sun, the Herald-Tribune, and the Naples Daily News.
Tip time and television information will be announced later, the outlets reported. Tickets will go on sale on Sept. 16, with a 24-hour presale one day prior.
Baylor and Florida have met only four times, with the Bears leading the all-time series 3-1. Their last meeting came during the 2023-24 season and ended in a 95-91 Baylor win in Brooklyn, New York, as the reports noted.
The matchup will be Florida's first exhibition game since 2021 and the first against a Division I opponent since 2017. Last season, UF played Illinois and Florida International in private scrimmages.
In addition to the exhibition, the Gators will also participate in the Jacksonville Hoops Showdown series during the regular season, facing Grand Canyon on Dec. 18, according to the reports.
