A Secret Double Life

Heather Boyd, a star of TLC's new reality series "Double Lives of Suburban Wives," says her hidden adult-content business cost her the corporate job she had worked to build. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Boyd said, "I was actually fired for the adult content."

At 37, Boyd has four children and a husband who works for a milk company. She describes her home as "noisy and chaotic all the time." For six years, she maintained a secret career creating adult content under the name "Hella Hot Wife."

Her family, including the mother-in-law who lives with them, had no idea about the side work. "It's hard to keep a double life," Boyd said.

From a Casual Suggestion to a Side Hustle

Boyd said she had been struggling with her physical appearance after having her youngest child. "I was losing confidence because I had had my last kid and my body had changed so much," she told Fox News Digital.

Her husband, Shawn, suggested starting an X account to post pictures as a fun way to boost her morale. "My husband actually had talked about starting an X account for us and just posting some pictures and that was going to be all in fun," Boyd said.

Then one post took off. "He started the X… we posted a picture and, like overnight, it had over 1,000 likes," she recalled. "I took it over. I was having a lot of fun just posting it for free."

Someone reached out with a referral link to an adult-content platform, and Boyd began to consider making money from it. "And I was like, 'We could really try this,'" she said. "Like what if we actually were able to make a little bit of money off of this?"

At the time, Boyd was working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She said her first lingerie video earned $100 almost immediately, and her best month brought in about $5,000.

Balancing Family and Content Creation

To keep the work hidden, Boyd and Shawn maintained a locked room in their home dedicated to content creation, telling their children it was her office. Despite the secrecy, Boyd says she has no regrets about appearing on the show.

The series, which airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC, follows six St. Louis-area couples as they balance marriages, children, and conventional careers while earning money through adult content, according to the network's description.
