Actor Rohullah Mehdi Arrested in Mumbai Drug Case

Actor and model Rohullah Mehdi, who appeared in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer 'Deva', has been arrested by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch in Mumbai in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case. The police seized 28 grams of MD drugs, valued at approximately Rs 5.60 lakh, according to multiple reports.

Police Operation and Arrest

The investigation began after police received a tip-off about the sale of MD drugs through social media platforms, including Snapchat and WhatsApp. Acting on the information, the Kashimira Police team, supervised by DCP Zone-1 Rahul Chavan, planned a trap using a decoy customer.

A man identified as Kasif was allegedly called near Thakur Mall in the Dahisar Check Naka area to deliver 28 grams of MD. Police arrested Kasif during the alleged transaction, and during questioning, he reportedly named Mehdi as his supplier.

Following this, officers arrested Mehdi outside a studio in Malad, where he was reportedly shooting at the time.

Who is Rohullah Mehdi?

According to police, Mehdi is originally from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and was living in Goregaon, Mumbai. He played the character 'Rohanj Bhai' in the 2025 film 'Deva', which starred Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. He has also appeared in several web series.

Legal Proceedings

After his arrest, Mehdi was produced before a court, which sent him to five days of police custody. He has been named as the main accused in FIR No. 437/2026.

The investigation is focused on tracing the alleged drug network and determining whom Mehdi may have supplied drugs to. Police are also examining whether anyone else, including individuals from the film industry, could be connected to the case. According to reports, the investigation remains ongoing and more names could emerge.

The accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
