A new relationship

Davis Mallory, a reality TV personality known for his appearances on "The Real World: Denver" and "The Challenge," has revealed his new girlfriend, Rachel Vaughan. The couple made their relationship Instagram official over the weekend, with Mallory sharing photos of the two kissing and smiling together. In one post, he wrote, "It's crazy what love can do. I love you." Vaughan also shared photos of the pair, writing, "First day I met Davis in the middle of the ocean we pet wild horses and hitchhiked up the valley."

According to Mallory, he first met Vaughan in Hawaii in February 2022 while he was DJing a wedding. He said they began traveling together, became best friends, and eventually fell in love, officially starting their relationship in August. He also noted that they are not yet living together.

The news comes roughly a year after Mallory announced he was "no longer gay," a statement that drew attention given his history of advocating for gay Christians.

A changed identity

Mallory first came out as gay during "The Real World: Denver" in 2005. In later years, he was open about his sexuality, sharing on Facebook in 2018 that he knew he was gay from a young age. He wrote: "I knew I was gay since I was 15. I grew up singing in my church choir, and I witnessed other straight members of this choir excel in music careers. I didn't pursue music because I didn't see a place for myself as a gay artist. I knew I was gay before Ellen DeGeneres came out."

However, in an Instagram video posted last September, Mallory said he had been living a gay lifestyle for about 20 years before God "pulled me out of that lifestyle" a year earlier. He elaborated on his beliefs in subsequent posts, saying that being gay is a form of "sinning" and explaining that "Sinning in anyway is not his plan for us." He also referenced God's design, stating, "He did not design us to sin, and when we live a life of sin, we are not just dishonoring God, but we are doing a disservice to ourselves and our character."

Mallory said he recommitted himself to Christianity after traveling to Hawaii and meeting a man who asked if he had been baptized. He also described a series of dreams that helped guide his spiritual journey. When asked about conversion therapy, he responded, "Not really. But God started giving me vivid dreams and healed me from trauma and showed me the spiritual warfare I was under."

In response to a follower who asked if he is sexually attracted to men and has sex with men, Mallory replied, "NO & NO."

His girlfriend, Rachel Vaughan, has been described as "incredibly religious." Her social media presence includes posts of herself using a gun, and she follows Ivanka Trump on Instagram.

Mallory's announcement has sparked discussion among fans and observers, but he has framed his journey as a matter of faith, saying, "Think of all the stories of the men and kings who pleased God, and honored his command and those who did not. We are still being judged under those same standards."
