Birthday Wishes from Parents

David and Victoria Beckham marked their son Romeo's 24th birthday on Tuesday, September 1, with heartfelt social media tributes. David, 51, took to Instagram to share a series of photos of the father-son duo through the years, writing: "Happy Birthday mate, we love you so much and I'm so proud of you for all you are as a person, sweet, kind and just an amazing young man. Love you so so much have the best day ever you deserve it."

Victoria, 52, posted her own message on Instagram, along with a photo of herself and Romeo at a concert and a picture of the pair with David. She wrote: "Romeo, you have the biggest smile and an even bigger heart. You are smart, kind and loved by us all so much. We are so proud of the incredible young man you have become. You treat everyone with such respect and kindness. Happy Birthday @romeobeckham we love you."

Romeo, described as an English model, former footballer, and budding actor, is the second of the couple's four children. David and Victoria, who married at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland on July 4, 1999, also share sons Brooklyn, 27, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 15.

Family Dynamics in the Spotlight

The birthday celebration comes months after the family was thrust into the headlines when eldest son Brooklyn publicly confirmed speculation about a rift within the Beckham family. In January, Brooklyn shared a statement on his Instagram Story in which he said he does "not want to reconcile" with his family and alleged that his parents "controlled narratives in the press" for his "entire life."

"The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into," Brooklyn claimed at the time. "Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of the innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out."

Brooklyn, who married Nicola Peltz Beckham in 2022, also alleged that his parents had "been trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship" before he and Peltz exchanged vows, and claimed that Victoria "hijacked" their first dance.

Hours after Brooklyn's statement, David gave a television interview to CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos, offering a response that was widely interpreted as addressing the family tensions. "I've always spoken about social media and the power of social media — for the good and for the bad," he told Squawk Box.

Months later, Victoria broke her silence on the family feud in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, saying that she and David "love our children so much."

Recent Family Milestones

Beyond the birthday celebrations, the Beckhams have been in the public eye for other family moments. On August 29, David and Victoria were seen supporting their son Cruz as he performed with his band, The Breakers, at the Reading Festival, marking his major UK festival debut.
