Dhawan Celebrates South Delhi Superstarz' DPL 2026 Triumph

Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan joined the celebrations after his co-owned South Delhi Superstarz franchise clinched the Delhi Premier League 2026 title at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Dhawan, who is the Chairman of Da One Group and Founder of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, described the victory as a reflection of his belief in "the power of sport."

In an Instagram post following the win, Dhawan wrote, "Watching South Delhi Superstarz become Delhi Premier League champions, right there at the final, was a moment I'll carry with me." He added, "What excites me most isn't just the trophies. It's seeing young cricketers get a platform, take responsibility, play without fear and discover what they are capable of."

According to reports, Dhawan was present at the stadium for the final and joined the team in its celebrations. He later took a lap of honour, signing autographs and distributing South Delhi Superstarz jerseys among fans. His post also included congratulations to "every player, coach and member of the Superstarz family," noting, "You have shown what happens when talent meets opportunity."

Dhawan's Role and Broader Involvement

Dhawan co-owns the South Delhi Superstarz franchise through Da One Sports, the sports arm of the Da One Group. Beyond his ownership, Dhawan's involvement in sport extends through Da One Sports, which runs multiple academies and sports programmes, including a High Performance Centre in Gwalior and initiatives in regions such as Jammu and Kashmir.

The title adds to Dhawan's post-playing career contributions, as he continues to support grassroots cricket development through these ventures.
