Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce makes his commercial debut for Tommy Hilfiger in the brand's new campaign, "Only in New York," which dropped on Sept. 1. The spot, set at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, shows Kelce navigating a series of encounters with a cast of celebrities and athletes.
In the commercial, Kelce fist-bumps a doorman while wearing a gray hoodie and khaki coat, greets South Korean DJ and singer/songwriter Peggy Gou, and lounges on a couch with his dog, a Samoyed named Wendy. He later runs into model Gigi Hadid on an elevator, where he wears a white cable knit sweater and navy peacoat, and walks through a kitchen in a rugby shirt, where he sees South Korean singer and brand ambassador Jisoo. Kelce also meets tennis player Frances Tiafoe and former NBA star Carmelo Anthony for a drink, and, in a final scene, steps outside in a letter jacket and encounters Tommy Hilfiger in a cab, who rolls down the window and says, "What are the chances?" Kelce exclaims that's why he loves New York and joins Hilfiger in the taxi.
The campaign also features Kelce's dog, whose onscreen debut alongside him was highlighted by TODAY. The Samoyed's name has not been made public. Kelce told Vogue that the Hilfiger team had considered including a dog, and he thought his and Swift's pup would be a natural fit. "We figured, why not her? She crushed it, and actually really fit into that Tommy aesthetic, too," he said, adding, "Those are some of my favorite shots." Kelce shared the ad on Instagram, noting in the caption, "There's also one very special cameo in there too."
The Hilfiger brand reached out to Kelce's management team in the fall of 2025 to bring him on board. According to Forbes, the brand had global retail sales of about $9 billion in 2025, and Kelce's next collaboration with Hilfiger is slated for February. Tommy Hilfiger's global chief marketing officer, Virginia Ritchie, said, "This will be one of our biggest and best out-of-home pushes in a long time."
Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and has spent his entire professional career in Kansas City, Mo. He has been in the headlines recently for his personal life, with reports that he married Taylor Swift at Madison Square Garden during the July 4 weekend. Forbes cited July 4 weekend, while TODAY reported the wedding took place on July 3. Kelce said the wedding was "perfect" and that it allowed him "to kind of live out childhood dreams of being in that venue and the mecca of all sports venues." He also expressed his excitement about the campaign, stating, "Tommy brought us into his world at The Plaza for this, and it doesn't get more classic New York than that. There's a magic to this city, and I love that you never know who or what's around the corner."
In addition to his new endorsement work, Kelce has a one-year contract with the Chiefs for 2026 worth $12 million, with two void years for salary cap purposes, according to Forbes. Swift is famously the owner of three cats, Olivia Benson, Meredith Grey, and Benjamin Button, who have all had their own moment in the spotlight.
