Cardi B Shows Off $187K Designer Bag Haul in TikTok Video
Cardi B is showing off her latest luxury purchases in a new TikTok video, displaying more than $187,000 worth of designer bags. The rapper, 33, took to the platform on Saturday to share the eight new purses she has acquired over the past five weeks from Chanel, Bottega, and Hermès, spanning trips to New York, Paris, and Italy.
"Some of them are a little extravagant and some of them are a little calm," she told viewers, as reported by both Billboard and Page Six.
The Bags and the Stories Behind Them
Cardi B started the haul with an $8,500 Chanel Maxi Flap Bag featuring a red, yellow, and black design with a gold-tone metal strap. She revealed that she had purchased the bag that day, after missing out on it earlier. "I went to Chanel to try to get this bag. Guess what: I got there too late. Jordyn Woods got there before me, 30 minutes earlier, so she snatched the last bag that they had of this one in New York," she said, according to Billboard. Page Six reports that Cardi also got the matching outfit for the bag about three months ago.
The rapper then showed off a black Chanel Maxi Flap Bag priced at $9,300, which she called her "everyday" bag, though she expressed a desire for it in green. The third bag was a Chanel Pony Hair Cheetah Printed Creative Fabrics Flap purse, valued at $15,955, featuring a gold chain shoulder strap in light beige and black.
She also showcased a Bottega Veneta shoulder purse priced at $6,700, which she described as beautiful. "Look at her, she is so beautiful. I had to have her ... I know she's gonna be one of [my favorites]," she gushed, as reported by Page Six.
The Hermès Collection
The haul included several Hermès bags, which were highlighted by Page Six with specific details and prices. Among them were an alligator-skin mini Hermès Birkin in a rose shade, estimated to be worth $25,000 to $35,000 USD, which she said she needed in a smaller size after having the regular-size version. "Ahh, I gotta have both," she said, according to Page Six.
She also displayed an unused Hermès Birkin Neve Matte Mississippienis alligator leather mini purse in Gris, and a Hermès Birkin Jaune Bourgeon Alligator Mini priced at $44,100, which she called "last but not least." Billboard's coverage noted the haul included two Hermès Mini Kelly purses, along with a large black tote and a furry polka-dot handbag from Chanel, and a roomy forest-green Bottega.
Page Six also reported that Cardi B purchased a white feathered purse from Italy, which she said she has used once and may not wear again except for special events due to its delicate nature. She hinted that she might do a similar haul for her shoes next.
Context and Personal Touches
Cardi B wore one of the new bags to a Kehlani concert in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Friday (Aug. 21), where she performed the song "Ring" alongside the singer, whom she referred to as "my baby Lani." During the TikTok, her eldest child, Kulture, made noise in the background, prompting Cardi to yell "Kulture!" before returning to the fashion presentation, as noted by Billboard.
The rapper has been open about her love for luxury bags, becoming an ambassador for the high-end resale platform Fashionphile in May. In a video for the company earlier this month, she jokingly pleaded "not guilty" to spending too much on bags, explaining she views them as investments. In an interview with E! News in May, she also mentioned that her daughter Kulture, eight, sometimes goes into her closet, adding, "My clothes, whatever, and my shoes, whatever, but don't touch Mommy's purses."
Cardi B shares Kulture with estranged husband Offset, as well as son Wave and daughter Blossom. In November, she welcomed a baby boy with then-boyfriend Stefon Diggs. In July, she released her first new song since topping the Billboard 200 with her sophomore album "Am I the Drama?" in October, titled "AH HA," which debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.
