A Decade Later, an Unlikely Friendship
Brandi Glanville has declared a surprising preference: she now says she likes LeAnn Rimes more than her ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian. On her podcast, Glanville stated, "I do definitely think you can develop a friendship. I like LeAnn more than I like Eddie." She did not hold back about her feelings towards her ex, adding, "Eddie just annoys the f out of me. All I remember is all the s he did to me."
Despite the lingering frustration, it appears time has softened the dynamic between the two women. Glanville, 53, elaborated on the change, noting a mutual understanding has formed. "She annoys me too — don't get me wrong — but we actually like each other. I feel like we both like each other more than we like Eddie," she said. "I don't know. It took 10 years."
A Complicated History
Glanville's journey to this point of detente has been a long and public one. She and Cibrian were married from 2001 to 2010 and share two sons, Mason and Jake. Cibrian married Rimes in 2011, but not before a highly publicized affair that ended Glanville's marriage and also involved Rimes's own previous marriage.
The 2010 divorce was a painful chapter for Glanville. She previously related how the affair left her feeling "broken," adding she only got through it for the sake of her children. Writing in The Sun in 2021, she recounted the difficult period, saying, "I couldn’t turn on the TV without seeing something about them. LeAnn had taken over my life and I didn’t have a voice anymore." She described the intense rage she felt at the time, particularly surrounding her children's interactions with Rimes.
A Sign of the Times
Her comments about Rimes and Cibrian came as she discussed the news that Farrah Aldjufrie is expecting her first child. Glanville offered her support for Aldjufrie, saying, "I love Farrah... I do know she’s a good girl and she comes from a good family... Leave Farrah alone!"
Meanwhile, Rimes and Cibrian recently celebrated their 15th anniversary together. Rimes shared an Instagram post in April marking the occasion. The evolution from bitter adversaries to something resembling friends was perhaps best summarized by Glanville’s earlier and more pointed remarks about Rimes potentially joining a reality show, a sentiment that stands in stark contrast to her current position of friendship.
