Rapper Blueface was detained by police in Santa Clarita, California, on the night of August 23, in what authorities and reports describe as an apparent swatting incident. The rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Porter, was at his King of Crabs restaurant in the Santa Clarita Valley with his girlfriend Nevaeh Akira and their newborn baby when officers arrived.

According to law enforcement sources, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to an emergency call reporting "severe violence" at the restaurant. The call turned out to be false, and all individuals detained on the scene, including Blueface, were released after deputies determined no crime had occurred.

Video footage posted to social media shows Blueface being ordered by police to step outside the restaurant, where a large number of deputies were standing next to patrol cars. In the footage, Blueface is seen telling Akira to take his phone and go back inside, then walking backwards toward officers with his hands raised. He was then handcuffed while on his knees, but was not arrested and was ultimately released.

One witness livestreamed the incident, capturing Blueface and Akira during the chaotic scene. Akira appeared to be holding a child, and the footage shows her responding with concern when a deputy asked Blueface if he was with his baby's mother.

The exact reason for the police response has not been confirmed by authorities. Several claims about the incident circulated online. One claim alleged that police were sent to King of Crabs, a seafood restaurant linked to Blueface, after someone reported a shooting. Another video appeared to include an emergency caller claiming that Blueface had punched his fiancée in the face. Neither claim had been officially confirmed at the time of reporting.

Recent Context

The incident occurred just five days after Blueface and Akira welcomed their first child together, a son named Johnathan Jamall Porter Jr., born on August 18. Akira's labor was livestreamed on Kick.

This was not the first time Blueface has been the target of a swatting call. In July, police responded to his home in Canyon Country after a report that a woman had been shot at the property. Deputies found no injury and determined it was a swatting call.

Blueface also had two other police interactions in August. One took place at his Santa Clarita home, where he was caught on video kicking a pregnant Akira into a pool. The other occurred in San Diego, where he was pulled over for equipment violations. He was not arrested in either incident.

TMZ reached out to Blueface for comment but received no response.
