The incident report, which FOX 3 News obtained, characterizes the altercation as an aggravated assault involving hands, feet, and fists, and advises the victim to contact TCUPD for a more comprehensive investigation and possible filing of charges. The Athletic, as cited by FOX 4 News, identified the player involved as Fields, who was dismissed on Aug. 18, five days after the reported incident. TCU's statement on the dismissal cited a "violation of team rules" without further details.

According to Johnson, the dismissal came after a fight between Fields and an offensive player. A source told Johnson that the coaching staff was aware of threats Fields received from teammates early in camp, including alleged spitting and other harassment.
The source said Fields felt targeted by insults and threats, and multiple spitting incidents occurred. He reportedly reached out to the coaching staff multiple times but found no de-escalation, which the source claims contributed to the locker room confrontation. The source also expressed doubt about whether head coach Sonny Dykes understood the full extent of the situation.
These accounts have not been confirmed by TCU, and the altercation's details remain a subject of dispute.
