The holiday season in Berlin kicks off with a locally grown Christmas tree placed on Main Street. Schoolchildren decorate the tree with hand-painted oyster shell ornaments, a nod to the area's coastal heritage. The festivities continue with an annual tree lighting ceremony accompanied by pipes and drums.
Among the town's signature events is "Ice Ice Berlin," featuring hand-carved ice sculptures, late-night shopping, and a marketplace with handmade gifts.
