Man injured by black bear on North Vancouver trail
A man was injured by a black bear on Monday morning in North Vancouver, according to the Conservation Officer Service. The incident occurred on the Richard Juryn trail network in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, where the man was walking by himself when he encountered the bear around 8 a.m.
The bear followed the man for "some time" despite his attempts to scare it away, the Conservation Officer Service said, and eventually swiped at the man's leg. Officers were called to the area, but the bear has not been found.
Fourth attack this month
