Former ESPN analysts reunite for 'The OG Football Show' to launch in September

Trey Wingo is reuniting with former ESPN colleagues Merril Hoge, Mark Schlereth, and Damien Woody for a new weekly show, 'The OG Football Show,' debuting September 7, as reported by Front Office Sports and announced by Wingo on his X account.

The show will air every Monday on YouTube, breaking down the four best games from the weekend's slate, with Wingo anchoring and the other three providing analysis. It kicks off with a season preview on September 7 and runs through Super Bowl LXI, hosted at SoFi Stadium, before going dark in the offseason. According to Front Office Sports, the show will also be available on standard podcast platforms, with Excel Sports' Kevin Hopkins, Ryan Orozco, and KC Murphy handling distribution and sponsorship deals.

Backgrounds of the Analysts

All four worked together for years on ESPN's NFL Live. Schlereth won three Super Bowls with the Broncos and Redskins, Woody won two with the Patriots, and Hoge played running back for the Steelers and Bears from 1987 to 1994.

Wingo was with ESPN for more than two decades before the network decided not to renew his contract in 2020. He later launched The Wingo Network on YouTube, which will now serve as the home of 'The OG Football Show.' Hoge was laid off by ESPN in 2017, in a wave of cuts that followed the network's acquisition of NFL Network for $3 billion. Woody was part of ESPN's recent layoffs and chose not to appear on the network through the end of August.

Wingo first teased the project weeks before the official announcement, responding to a fan on social media with, "What if I told you. We were putting the band back together?" He followed up with "stay tuned" and a link to his YouTube channel.
