Audi India opens bookings for new Q3 SUV at ₹1 lakh ahead of October launch

Audi India has opened bookings for the all-new Q3 SUV, with customers able to reserve the third-generation model for an initial amount of ₹1 lakh. The bookings can be made through Audi India's official website, the myAudi Connect app, or at its dealerships, according to CNBC TV18. Times Now also reported that the reservation amount is Rs 1 lakh and that the booking can be made online, via the app, or at dealerships.

The opening of bookings is a step toward the SUV's India launch, which CNBC TV18 reported is expected in October. Times Now noted that delivery is expected around the festive season. The company has not yet confirmed official pricing or detailed variant-wise specifications, according to both outlets.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Brand Director, Audi India, was quoted by CNBC TV18 as saying: "Today marks an exciting milestone as we open bookings for the all-new Audi Q3... We have seen strong interest in the all-new Q3, and the opening of bookings is an important moment for us as we continue to strengthen our SUV portfolio."

Pricing and positioning

Industry estimates place the price of the new Q3 between ₹48 lakh and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom), as reported by Times Now. CNBC TV18, meanwhile, reported expectations of pricing between ₹53 lakh and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom). The outgoing MY25 Q3 is currently priced from ₹43.67 lakh (ex-showroom), according to CNBC TV18.

The new Q3 will be locally assembled in India and will serve as Audi's entry-level SUV in the country, competing with the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, as reported by CNBC TV18. Times Now also identified the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA as the Q3's rivals.

The Q3 is the first of three new Audi models planned for India, with the A5 and Q9 scheduled to follow in 2027, according to CNBC TV18.

Design and dimensions

The third-generation Q3 is larger than its predecessor across all dimensions, measuring 4,531mm in length, 1,859mm in width, and 1,623mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,681mm, as reported by both CNBC TV18 and Times Now.

According to CNBC TV18, the SUV features split LED headlamps positioned above a wide grille, a honeycomb-patterned air intake in the bumper, and a silver lower element. The side profile includes body-coloured cladding, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and roof rails, with an L-shaped chrome strip along the window line and black trim connecting the rear windows to create a "floating roof" effect. Split LED tail-lamps are present at the rear.

Times Now reported that the India-spec Q3 does not get the S-Line styling package available in some global markets, and that the showcased vehicle features a black dashboard with beige seats. Times Now also noted that Audi retained physical buttons for key functions on the centre console.

Engine and features

The India-spec Q3 is likely to have a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, as reported by Times Now. CNBC TV18 also reported the engine as a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol producing 320 Nm of torque. Times Now added that the engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and that Quattro all-wheel drive is expected to be standard across the range.

Times Now reported that the cabin gets a 12.8-inch touchscreen paired with an 11.9-inch digital driver's display and a stalk-mounted gear selector.

Market context

The outgoing Q3 has been on sale for years without a major update, and demand for the redesigned version is expected to be high in its first few months on sale, according to Times Now. Early bookers may benefit from priority allocation, the outlet noted.
