Jaya Bachchan's Warning

Arshad Warsi has opened up about a conversation that took place before his marriage to Maria Goretti, recalling advice Jaya Bachchan shared with his wife about the challenges of being married to an actor.

In an interview with Filmygyan, Warsi described Bachchan as "a very intelligent woman" and recalled her telling him and Goretti, "It is one of the most difficult things to do in life, is to marry an actor." According to Warsi, Bachchan directly asked the couple, "Are you ready for it?"

Warsi elaborated on Bachchan's reasoning: "I wouldn't say actor ki fitrat hai, but unfortunately, you're always put in situations where you are hanging with very interesting people, very good-looking people." He added, "Your job makes you do things that are not normal for a normal couple. So then you have to cross that barrier and still be with that person. So your love has to be beyond normal people's love and attention."

Bachchan, who has been married to fellow actor Amitabh Bachchan for more than five decades, spoke from her own experience of sharing a life with an actor, as noted in coverage of the interview.

Marriage and Relationship

Arshad Warsi and Maria Goretti got married on February 14, 1999. Their wedding featured both Christian and Islamic traditions, including a church ceremony followed by a traditional nikah. Nearly 25 years later, the couple registered their marriage in January 2024, according to one report.

The conversation with Jaya Bachchan, as Warsi recalled, focused on the unusual situations that can arise because of an actor's work and the importance of looking beyond professional circumstances within a relationship.

Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Warsi's last outing was Welcome to the Jungle. His next project is Jeevan Bheema Yojana, in which he plays a double role, releasing worldwide in cinemas on September 4. He also has Ghamasaan, releasing on Zee5 on September 11, and Asur 3 in his kitty.
