New Color Rumors for iPhone 18 Pro

As Apple prepares for its anticipated Sept. 9 launch event, new reports are offering a clearer picture of the color options for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. According to Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital, cited by MacRumors, the iPhone 18 Pro has entered full mass production and is expected to be available in Dark Cherry, Sky Blue, and Black. CNET also reported on the leaker's claims, describing the colors as sky blue, pure black, and burgundy.

These color names have varied across previous rumors, with dark cherry and burgundy being used interchangeably. The latest information suggests that Apple may skip a silver or gray shade this year, instead bringing back black after it was absent from the iPhone 17 Pro series. Last year, black was offered on other models, including the iPhone Air, the base iPhone 17, and the iPhone 17E.

Potential Shift in Color Lineup

The reported lineup would mark a departure from the iPhone 17 Pro's color options. If these reports hold, Apple would replace all three colors offered with the iPhone 17 Pro rather than carry silver forward. Fixed Focus Digital also stated that a silver variant is unlikely to be part of the final lineup, with no evidence of a silver model in China.

However, the final selection is yet to be confirmed and could change before launch. Earlier dummy models shared by Sonny Dickson showed Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Black, and Silver, while leaked SIM tray photos showed Dark Cherry alongside Light Blue and Dark Grey, indicating that the color options have been in flux.

The Mystery of the Signature Color

The expected signature color has been described differently by various sources. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously referred to it as deep red, while Macworld called it Dark Cherry. Another source, Instant Digital, described the shade as a combination of burgundy, coffee, and deep purple.

If the latest information is accurate, Dark Cherry could replace Cosmic Orange, the signature color of the iPhone 17 Pro. Light Blue or Sky Blue might also feature, with Black and Dark Grey remaining possibilities.

Pricing Concerns Amid Memory Shortage

Beyond color, the cost of the iPhone 18 Pro is drawing attention. CNET noted that Apple has raised prices across other products amid an ongoing memory shortage that is making consumer electronics more expensive. With just about a week to go until the official event, more details about the iPhone 18 Pro's design are likely to emerge. Apple has not yet confirmed the color lineup or pricing.
