Andhra Pradesh Releases 2026 Job Calendar

The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday issued orders for the 2026 Job Calendar, providing for recruitment to 10,060 vacant posts through direct recruitment in four phases. The calendar, described as a significant step toward fulfilling a key election commitment of providing a structured recruitment roadmap for unemployed youth, was welcomed by job aspirants awaiting government notifications.

The finance department issued G.O.Ms.No.81 on August 22, authorising recruiting agencies, including the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB) and District Selection Committees (DSCs), to take up the recruitment.

Phased Recruitment Schedule

According to the calendar, 1,523 posts under Phase-I were already notified by the Higher Education Department on May 15, 2026. The second phase, covering 3,231 posts, is scheduled for notification on September 15, while the third and fourth phases, comprising 2,311 and 2,995 posts respectively, are scheduled for October 15. The remaining posts beyond Phase-I will be notified in the subsequent phases.

The Group of Ministers on Employment Generation examined the suitability and necessity of various posts, recommending their rationalisation and prioritisation based on departmental requirements, public service delivery and the objectives of Swarnandhra @2047. The government said the calendar was prepared after prioritising posts based on functional requirements, departmental criticality, public service delivery and these objectives.

Key Posts and Departments

Phase-II includes 149 Group-I posts such as deputy collector, deputy superintendent of police, assistant commissioner (ST), municipal commissioner Grade-II, divisional development officer, District Transport Officer, Assistant Audit Officer and other senior positions. The phase also covers 3,082 other posts, including horticulture officer, veterinary assistant surgeon (Class-A), hostel welfare officer Grade-II, forest section officer, forest beat officer, Forest Range Officer, police constable, Sub-Inspector of Police, fireman, driver operator, industrial promotion officer, Inspector of Factories, Assistant Statistical Officer, Assistant Director and EO Grade-III posts.

Phase-III includes 673 Group-II posts such as deputy tahsildars, deputy mandal parishad development officers, GST officers, prohibition and excise sub-inspectors, assistant section officers, accountants, Assistant Registrar (Co-operative), Municipal Commissioner Grade-III, Sub-Registrar Grade-II and other positions.

Recruitment will also cover the police, fire, prisons, forest, animal husbandry and other departments. Police recruitment includes constables and sub-inspectors in various categories, while fire services will recruit firemen and driver operators. Engineering and power utilities account for a significant share of the vacancies, including assistant executive engineers in irrigation, roads and buildings, panchayat raj, rural water supply and power utilities. The largest component is 2,991 posts under School Education, including SGTs, school assistants, instructors and DEOs.

Implementation Directives

The government directed departments to furnish vacancy particulars, roster points and qualifications to recruiting agencies in advance and ensure that recruitment follows the Presidential Order, reservation policy, service rules and other statutory provisions. Subject-wise vacancy details will be issued by the respective DSCs.
