The unit on sale is the Navy model, which is unlocked, so it will work with any carrier. Gizmodo's report emphasizes that this makes the phone 'a better buy than ever before' and suggests that, at this price, buying it outright from Amazon undercuts what you would pay through a two-year carrier installment plan.
The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a processor variant Qualcomm tuned specifically for Samsung, paired with 12GB of RAM. Gizmodo describes the combination as handling parallel workloads smoothly, such as translating a call while exporting a video or running multiple AI tasks at once.
The 6.7-inch display reaches 2,600 nits of brightness, bright enough to read in direct sunlight, and a ProScaler upscaling layer sharpens lower-resolution content, so streaming video looks better than the source material.
