Emotional Turmoil on 'Lock Upp'
Akanksha Chamola, a contestant on the reality show Lock Upp, has revealed that the visit of her husband, actor Gaurav Khanna, left her in a state of emotional turmoil. As reported by Hindustan Times, Chamola said that she entered the show believing that everything was fine at home, but the information passed on to her during Gaurav's appearance changed that perception.
"So when the information was passed on to me that things are not right back home, that is what shattered me. My home. It wasn't right, what I got to know," Chamola was quoted as saying. She explained that the way she presents herself to the world stems from the confidence she draws from her family's support and acceptance.
"The way I am in front of the world is because I have that much confidence in my family. They know what I am doing and they have accepted that. So when that information came, for me I kept on thinking what happened, till the time one doesn't know," she added, as per the same report.
Impact on Her Game
Gaurav's visit had a noticeable impact on Chamola's performance in the show. She said she struggled to concentrate on the game after receiving the information from home. This emotional distraction is believed to have contributed to her elimination in the semi-finale. Shreya Kalra ultimately emerged as the winner of the show.
It was reported that Farah Khan, who hosted the show, sensed that Gaurav's appearance would have a significant impact on Chamola's journey. The report quoting Farah as noting an intuition that 'things could go south' after Gaurav entered, and subsequently acknowledging that Chamola's secrets created a stir, earning her appreciation for being openly forthcoming.
A Personal Revelation
During the show, Chamola also opened up about personal aspects of her life and marriage. She shared that she is bisexual and has no desire to have children, including adoption, as she wants to be child-free. This stance differs from her husband Gaurav's seemingly conflicting viewpoint, as he wants kids.
The couple met at an audition and married in November 2016 in Kanpur, as per the report. Chamola expressed that her confidence was solely nourished by her family's support, and she made a point to be honest about the separation and divorce plans while on Lock Upp. The emotional toll from the news during the show added a layer of vulnerability to her journey, highlighting the fragile balance between her personal life and the demands of the competition.
