Ajay Devgn to Host Crime Patrol – Crime Ka Current Season
Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is set to host the latest edition of the long-running crime series,Crime Patrol – Crime Ka Current Season, according to The Indian Express. Devgn will serve as the special host, guiding viewers through stories inspired by real-life crime cases.
In a statement, Devgn described what draws him to the show: "What I find most intriguing about the show is that the stories are inspired by crime cases. Some of them are shocking because they show you the kind of things that can happen in the world around us, sometimes involving people you would never expect."
He also highlighted the show's depiction of investigative work: "At the same time, you also see the effort and persistence that goes into solving these cases. For me, the show is not just about telling compelling stories; it can also be an eye-opener for the audience."
Devgn stressed the importance of vigilance and caution in everyday life, adding, "It makes you more aware, more cautious, and reminds you not to trust anyone blindly. That awareness is important for everyone — youngsters, families and older audiences alike."
According to reports cited by The Indian Express and Lokmat Times, Devgn has already filmed 15 episodes. The decision on whether he will continue hosting the remainder of the season will depend on audience response and TRPs, a source close to the development told IANS, as reported by Lokmat Times. Actor Rajesh Tailang has also been brought on board to host additional episodes of the upcoming season.
Earlier, former host Anup Soni reacted to the news of Devgn taking over, expressing his support. "I don't have much to say on this. I have had a long and very special association with Crime Patrol, and I am grateful for all the love and affection the audience has given me over the years," Soni told Variety India, as per The Indian Express.
Soni also praised Devgn, saying, "I am a big fan of Ajay Devgn and have also had the opportunity to share the screen with him in films like Prakash Jha's Gangaajal and Apaharan. I am sure he will bring his own style and perspective to the show. I wish the team all the very best for the new season."
Crime Patrol first premiered in 2003, and over the years, various actors—including Sakshi Tanwar, Divyanka Tripathi, and Shakti Anand—have hosted the series. The new season,Crime Patrol – Crime Ka Current Season, is scheduled to premiere on Sony Entertainment Television on August 31, 2026, at 10:30 pm, and will also be available for streaming on Sony LIV, as reported by The Indian Express.
