OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has declared that artificial intelligence has reached the 'singularity' – the hypothetical moment when machines surpass human intelligence and become difficult to control. His statement, made during an interview on the Relentless podcast, has drawn both support and concern.
Altman said the company is "now in the singularity; this is the moment," adding that reaching this point was "unthinkable ten years ago," being a "far-off dream at best, while now it's actually the moment that we used to talk about in a very not serious way."
