CDC says US salmonella outbreak tied to jalapeno peppers from Mexico

At least 345 people across 27 US states have fallen ill in a salmonella outbreak that federal officials traced to jalapeño peppers from a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico; 36 people have been hospitalised. The CDC said Coast Citrus Distributors moved the peppers into the US and recalled them. Chipotle and Qdoba removed the peppers from their restaurants, and the CDC said neither chain is currently considered an ongoing risk.
