'Didn't think the law applied to us': NSW Reformers in spotlight at ICAC
The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is investigating alleged breaches of electoral funding laws and possible corrupt conduct linked to the NSW Reformers, a conservative Christian faction within the Liberal Party. Co-founder Robert Assaf told the inquiry he did not think the law applied to the group, while witnesses including hotelier Michael O'Hara and former minister Damien Tudehope gave evidence about undisclosed payments and prohibited donations.
